GOD'S WORD FOR THE DAY

Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11 (NKJV)

                  THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“Why is it that if someone tells you that there are 1 billion stars in the universe you will believe them but if they tell you a wall has wet paint you will have to touch it to be sure?”

                HOW BIG IS GOD?

No time for God; what fools we are to clutter up our lives with common things,
And leave without heart’s gate the Lord of life and life itself.
No time for God is soon to say no time to eat or sleep, or love or die.
Take time for God, or you shall dwarf your soul.
And when the death angel comes knocking at your door,
A poor, misshaped thing you’ll be to step into eternity.
No time for God? That day when sickness comes or trouble finds you out,
And you cry out to God, will He have time for you?
No time for God? Some day you’ll lay aside this mortal self
And make your way to worlds unknown.
And when you meet Him face to face,
Will He—should He—have time for you?

               SON OF THE LIVING GOD

Christ came into this world as God's Son sent from Heaven to tell us of God's love and to bring the war between us and God to an end.  Peter and his fellow believers world, was one of discouragement and despair, much like the world we live in today, they recognized Jesus Christ as the Messiah the light of the world, promised in the Old Testament and they followed Him. No matter how dark the world was then, or how dark our paths may seem today, Jesus is still the light of the world the Son of the living God and Savior of the world.  Matthew 16: 16

               GOD'S  WORD FOR THE DAY

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 (NKJV)

               THE LOVE OF CHRIST

After his resurrection Jesus came to His disciples, meeting them between the garden with its empty tomb and the city with its mob still passionate with hate. He said to them do not be afraid. much like He comes to us in the hospital room, or any other crisis we might be encountering, and He says don't be afraid, I'm here to help you. Nothing can ever separate you from my love!  Romans 8:35

               A LOVING MOTHER

“I remember I once asked my mother I said mom, how did I behave with you when I was a baby? Did I cry a lot and disturb you? I remember she looked at me gently with a smile, and said yes, son you did cry some but with valid reason. Because you didn't get enough milk in my breast to be fed sometimes. So you cried, and I cried with you. I don't know how our Mother nursed and raised 10 children, but look at me today, alive strong and healthy. I strongly believe in the strength of a praying mother and a God who answers prayer and in angels He sends into our lives, Mother in my opinion was truly an angel He sent our way.        Coleman

               THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Thank God that those times which strain faith so hard come only occasionally in life.  For the most part we travel a sunlit road, and when we are unaware of the love of God it is often because we have not looked for it.  To see the evidence of God’s mercies you have only to look.

Jethro

Jethro was the father-in-law of Moses. In Exodus 18, Moses was overwhelmed with his task to lead Israel. It seemed like everyone who had a problem came to Moses to mediate!

Exodus 18:13-27 describes Jethro’s wise suggestion for Moses to divide his labor into tens, fifties, hundreds, and thousands to reduce his leadership burden and delegate responsibility to the people of Israel.

Jethro said if Moses followed his suggestion, “God will direct you, you will be able to endure, and all this people also will go to their place in peace” (Exodus 18:23). Like a good son-in-law, Moses obeyed! This allowed Moses not to be held up with trivial matters but rather have a better system where they work themselves out.

This is a leadership structure followed by most business and governments today!

                HAPPY THANKSGIVING

We gather on this day to be thankful for what we have, for the family we love, the friends we cherish, and for the blessings that God has given us. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! May your blessings be multiplied this year and throughout all your life.        Coleman

               PREOCCUPATION

Mary And Joseph wanted to find a room where the Child Jesus could be born, the inn keeper wasn't hostile: his inn was crowded his hands were full, and his mind was preocuupied. the same answer millions give today, we are simply too preoccupied with other things, to welcome Christ into our lives. Don't let that happen to you!    Job 36: 26

“Thank God for allowing you to see another day. No matter what, keep trusting, keep believing, be strong, have hope. The best is yet to come.”

Hannah

 1 Samuel 1

Hannah was barren. She wanted a son but God had not granted her one. She begged the Lord for a child. In return she promised to dedicate this young man to God’s service. Her son was born and she followed through on her promise. She took the child to Eli the priest and left him to be raised in the Temple. She continued to have influence over the boy’s life through the years.

Her son grew up to be Samuel—one of the most influential and godly men in the Bible.

               OUR CHILDREN

Children need to know right from wrong, and the best place to learn it is at home. If they don't learn it there, they may end up without any moral and spiritual anchor. What parents do is as important as what they say in front of their children. What are your children and grand children learning from you?    Proverb 22: 6

              THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The greatest disease in the West today is not TB or leprosy; it is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for. We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love. There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread but there are many more dying for a little love. The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty — it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality. There’s a hunger for love, as there is a hunger for God. ― Mother Teresa

               BIBLE CHARACTERS

 Jabez

Jabez is only mentioned in a few verses of scripture and is known for his famous “Prayer of Jabez” mentioned in 1 Chronicles 4:10:

Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, ‘Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!’ And God granted what he asked.

It is a simple prayer prayed in faith and serves as a powerful example of answered prayer and receiving blessing from the Lord.

WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!

God looks upon us in His omniscience, He sees what has happened, what is happening, and what will happen. God see the whole picture. He knows what is best for us and He knows what will destroy us. Don't think your way is better than His, but listen to His word...…..and obey.   Psalm 147: 5

Shamgar

Judges 3:31

Ever heard of Shamgar? Well, that’s probably because not much is known about him. That said, what is known about Shamgar is that he assassinated 600 Philistines with an ox-goad — a farming tool from back in that time. Killing 600 people in battle with farming equipment?  God doesn't always use famous or mighty people or mighty weapons to get His work do, He can use anyone or anything. All He needs is a willing soul.

                   CHRISTMAS

Every year we hear people say how much they dread Christmas, how busy they will be, or how much money they will spend. don't let the Christmas season overwhelm you. Don't feel you have to do everything, or go in debt to impress other people. Focus instead on Jesus. Take time to read His word, especially the story about His birth. Make this Christmas one of exceedingly great joy instead of being painfully unhappy .    Matthew 2: 10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“Those who leave everything in God’s hand will eventually see God’s hand in everything.” Anonymous

BIBLE CHARACTERS

Peter
Matthew 26:69-75

Peter was an apostle of Jesus Christ, he was the spokesman for the Twelve Apostles. Though Peter did deny Jesus three times during the Son of God’s trial, Peter went on to preach the word of God, filling his apostleship with many accomplishments for Christ and spreading the gospel everywhere he went. Sometimes, what’s seen on the outside isn’t the only thing Christ sees in a person, we can all change.

               BORN TWICE

It isn't conjecture to be born twice; Has it happened to you? If not you are not only unfit for the Kingdom of God...…..you are cheating yourself out of the greatest, most revolutionary experience know to the human being. By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ into your life right now. He will come in and you will be born from above, making it possible for you to have  been  born twice once physically and once spiritually  "hal·le·lu·jah."  John 3: 3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

It is impossible to reason without arriving at a Supreme Being. ---George Washington

BIBLE CHARACTERS

Jonah
Jonah Chapter 1

You can’t run away from your fears. The story of Jonah from the Bible can tell you all about that. He was told by God to call the people of Nineveh to repent. But he didn’t, and instead he found himself in a violent storm while out at sea. When thrown overboard, he was saved by a large fish, thanks to God’s intermingling, and was later returned to land. The story shows that running from your fears doesn’t work. Eventually, you’ll have to try and conquer them.

          ROOTED IN GOD'S WORD

I am told trees with the deepest roots, survive best in furious storms, their roots are like an anchor helping them survive the storm. we need to make sure our soul is firmly planted and rooted in Christ so that He will be our anchor during the storms of  life.     Colossians 2: 6-7

Sin is man’s declaration of independence from God.

                    DEATH

Our viewpoint of death is tingled with sadness, and its not wrong to mourn the loss of a loved one, Jesus wept at the grave of His friend Lazarus. The way to Heaven lie's through the valley of the shadow of death, God's angels accompany us all the way to our glorious home...…that Jesus has prepared for us in Heaven……Thank You Lord. Colossians 1-5

                   THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

What you possess in the world will be found at the day of your death to belong to someone else, but what you are will be yours forever.
---Henry Van Dyke

                                       Bible  Characters

Ruth
Ruth 1:1

After men in their family died, Ruth and Naomi traveled to Bethlehem to recover from the loss of love. While there, Ruth met Boaz, a rich man and relative of Naomi. The two fell in love and were to be wedded. It's a classic tale of finding someone you love and sticking with them, no matter how tough times may be. It also shows the value of friendship, with Ruth and Naomi both staying true to each other and remaining friends despite the new loves and problems that came their way.

LIBERATED FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN

God created our first parents perfect and with out sin. But they rebelled against God, sin entered the world, and since that day the human heart has been infected with sin. But Christ came to set us free, and we will be liberated from the bondage of sin. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  Romans 8: 21

             THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

You don't appreciate home until you leave it and, let me tell you, you can't appreciate life till you've almost left it! Some people hope and die with their song still in them. I used to think that happiness resulted when my earnings matched my yearnings! But not anymore!
---Patsy Cline

                            Biblical Characters

Job
Job 1:1
Just because things get bad, doesn’t mean they’ll stay bad. Job was the object of Satan’s devilish attention, as the devil cast spell upon spell on Job — striking his livestock with lightning, blowing down his house and killing his family. But in the end, God admitted to Job this was a part of his plan and that Job would be wealthy for the rest of his existence. The story of Job shows that perseverance will help you get through anything. And that no matter how dark things get, there’s a bright side waiting for you.

                               GOD'S GRACE

The Bible says by grace you have been saved. That means our salvation was totally unmerited, it came solely because of God's grace. Thank God for His grace, for with out it we would have no hope.   John 1: 17

                       THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

When we fully realize who God is, we learn that each of us is a child of the King!
---Pat Boone

                      BIBLICAL CHARACTERS

Jesus the Good Shepherd
Psalm 23; John 20:11-18
Jesus is as the Good Shepherd.  He knows his sheep and his sheep know him, and he leads them forth by calling each by name. Hearing their names spoken by a familiar voice, they follow him.

A good example of His sheep  knowing the Good Shepherd is Mary Magdalene, one of Jesus’ sheep, was crying outside the empty tomb when Jesus appeared. She mistook him for the gardener and didn’t recognize his voice. Then came the Good Shepherd moment. Jesus drew near and spoke one word — “Mirjam” (Mary). Hearing her name uttered in that familiar voice, Mary exclaimed, “Rabbouni” (teacher). This was the “aha” moment. Jesus knows us and calls us by name.

                                                                            GOD'S WORD

Only God's word can help us avoid moral and spiritual danger. And God's word , will by no means disappear it is a lamp to our feet to guide our path. God's word never changes. Jesus said I tell you the truth, until Heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will pass away.   Psalm 119: 114
