Not far from where i grew up in London Kentucky is Black Mountain the highest point in the commonwealth of Kentucky.
On its ridges are old trees that have been stunted and gnarled by the hostile climate and the sparsely rocky soil.
Craftsmen have told me that when one of those trees die its wood is highly prized------and the reason is because it is so strong. the trees resisted those fierce alpine winds for decades and they strengthened it.
What happens when the winds of adversity blow in our lives ? Do they flatten us, knock us down, stop our growth? Or like those trees, do we grow stronger?
The trees that survive I'm told are those with the deepest roots. The roots are like an anchor helping them survive the storms and they draw up the soil's nutrients helping them grow stronger.
"So may we always walk in Christ rooted and built up in Him." Colossians 2: 6-7 that, when the winds of adversity blow our way, like the trees we will grow strong, anchored, and drawing up spiritual strength that one day we will be highly prized of the Lord, as the trees are to the craftsman.

HOW QUICKLY OPINIONS CHANGE
I Love cheering for my favorite baseball team the Detroit Tigers especially when they are winning, but my interest starts waning a bit when they are losing.
It's easy rooting for a team when they are popular and playing well.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem for the passover feast His popularity was at an all time high, by the end of the week the same people's opinions had changed and they were demanding that He be crucified.
I'd like to think if I had been in that crowd I would have been a loyal fan and would have followed Jesus all the way to the cross but knowing my track record with my sports team, I might not have.
Christ deserves full time followers are you one of His fans today? Are you cheering for Him to win the hearts of your loved ones? Your friends at work, your class mates, those you come in contact with everyday.
If you are a loyal fan you will be faithful with praying and cheering for Him, you will not waiver in your effort to be a true follower of His ,even when the world is cold and en- different to our Saviour.
Are you His faithful fan or a fair whether one?

Does Christianity work ? Does anything really happen when a person repents of sin and receives Christ by faith ?
I can only tell you that it worked in my own life. I was reared during the Depression on a farm in Kentucky
My parents weren't able to give me all the advantages most young people enjoy today.
I grew up in a Christian home, by the time I was 21
I wasn't much into religion the church or the Bible.
But one Sunday morning I committed my life to Jesus Christ and He gave me a whole new direction.
My life suddenly had more joy in it than I had ever known, my attitude toward others changed. I began to seek God's will instead of my own way, no I didn't become perfect but my life was changed.
I've traveled across most of America some of Canada, and spent a few days in Mexico and I can honestly say I have never met anyone who regretted giving his or her life to Christ. And neither will you.

It is a bit unusual today to hear music from back in the 1860's one such song has withered the test of time and people in their nineties, teenagers, and toddlers all still sing that song.
"Jesus Loves me"
Jesus love me --- this I know for the Bible tells me so,
is part of the first stanzas.
First written as a poem by :Anna Bartlett Warner
Later into a hymn by: William Batchelder Bradbury
is sang in churches all over the world today.
Jesus is still telling people today He loves each of us in fact; He gave us this message long ago.
New International Version (NIV)
The Bible tells us Jesus loves us, just how much does He loves us ? Jesus was nailed to the cross. He died
for us then rose again, that's a precious fact He provided for each one reading this message today.
Whether you believe it or not He always will love you Isn't that amazing how unconditional His love really is.?
