What do you think of Halloween?  answers can vary depending  of  whom you ask.

Most kids  love  trick or treating and the glamor that goes along with dressing up, and collecting candy.

Many love the Ghostly scary side it presents.

 Some think it un-Christ like.

But for my Mother and Dad it wasn't  about any of the above, no it was about them making their wedding vowels, in the middle of the road.

Halloween just happened to be the time and place, when all the pieces for their marriage came together

Not a more unusual thing could have happened, in my opinion.

Meeting the Preacher on the road they were traveling, was one of the pieces .

Being so much in Love you might say, kind of propelled them  in to this Divine appointment it seems.

Asking the Preacher if he would marry them in the middle of the road, was the thing that put everything into motion.

When he said he didn't see any reason why not,  they were elated.

He told them to make it legal, they would need to pick up a marriage license, for him to sign later.

That signed document stood the test of time, and their union of marriage lasted 56 years, if my memory serves me right.

I suppose the meaning of Halloween took on a whole new dimension  that day, as it became a special  and unforgettable moment, for Mother and Dad.

What ever your beliefs are about Halloween, be blessed of the Lord, and if you decide to get married, may it become long lasting, and a special day for you as well.

Until next time, God bless.
