As a young lad in the Appalachian hills,of Kentucky, I walked to school each day on my way, was a cool spring of water that flowed out of the hillside near the road way.

Many times I  would stop and fill up the hollowed  gourd that hang near by the spring,  and enjoy one of the most refreshing drinks of water that I can ever recall.

When Jesus  encountered a woman at Jacob's well He talked to her about another source of water that would always satisfy.

He mentioned that whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.

Also He told her the water that he would give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14 )

Far greater than the natural spring water I drank on the way to school is the refreshment we have been offered in Christ Himself.

For Jesus alone is the water of life that can quench our thirsty soul.

Many times it seems we drank far to often of the waters of this world that can not satisfy.

Forgive us Lord and teach us to find in Christ the water that can quench the thirst in our hearts.

Despite all the wars that have been fought through the centuries of time, the hope for peace hasn't faded from the hearts of man.

In his infinite ways man searches for the end
to  all wars, but to no avail.

God has a peace plan and its found in His Son
which the Bible calls the "Prince of peace"
(Isa.  9:6) but we have rejected God's plan and tried to substitute it with one of our own.

God longs to see this rebellion cease, that is why Christ came, and by His death on the cross
He provided the way for us to be reconciled to God,and when we have peace with God, we will have peace in our hearts----- and peace with each other.

Until that day comes God extends a peace treaty to all who come to Christ, (Isa. 2:4)  Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

Will you be one of those who represents the "Prince of peace" by the way you conduct your life and live it, so others may see Him in you.

Happy is the man who has the God of Jacob as his helper.     Psalm 146: 5

Happiness can't be pursued and caught, anymore than one can pursue a sunny day and put it in a can and then, open it and let it shine on a cloudy day.

My Mother gave me a few pointer on happiness, which  she said worked well for her over the years.

I've tried to live by them as best I can since she shared them with me, maybe some of you will find them helpful in your life.

Her philosophy for happiness was, be yourself, never compare yourself with others.

For-give and for-get, remember not to take things to personally.

Never give up, you are just as unique and special as anyone else in the world.

Be honest, stay calm, Love yourself don't be to critical  , for no one is perfect

Be generous the act of giving always makes your heart more content with its self, and remember that being truthful and positive and helping others you can have more yourself.

And the most important one she said was real happiness comes from a different prusuit, The prusuit of God.

So far I haven't proven Mother wrong and perhaps you want either if you are willing to follow her advice.

The Son of man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels. (Matthew16:27 )

Today Christ is hidden from our view  (althought through the Holy spirit He lives in our hearts.)

Only in the future will we see Him as He is.(I John 3:2 )

Christ's first appearing was quite, and almost unnoticed, His second appearing will be glorious and universal He will be accompanied by His angels and will defeat every enemy, and He will subdue the whole earth.

How easy the events of the moment crowd out His promised return.

Don't let the present things of this world hinder you from looking for the Son of man to come, His return is sure to happen just as He has promised. "Seek those things which are above, where Christ is."

                         (Col. 3:1 )
