As another year ends, no doubt you have had your share of joy's and disappointments, be patient and stand firm.

Because the Lord's coming is near,  be patient and take courage it tells us in (James 5:8)

The Bible speaks about a heavenly city whose builder and maker is God, a place where those who are redeemed will be superior to angels.

A city where a pure river of water of life clear as crystal is proceeding from the throne of God, and there will be no need for light of the sun, in that city for the Lord God will give them light.

Are you optimistic or pessimistic for 2014
don't know about you but after reading Rev. 22     and learning how beautiful this city is  I' am optimistic.

Holiday advertising,Television specials, our favorite  Christmas carol's on the radio, should all  assure us of a Merry Christmas.
But for many people this will not be the case, some will be homeless, some will be in the hospital with illness's ,still others will be nurturing their hopelessness, from drug and alcohol abuse, and for others marriage will be sadly ending for them, the list could go on.
Christmas should be a time of joy and peace and good will as we all know, but we live in a fallen world, and a less than perfect Christmas does happen, that first Christmas in Bethlehem seemed less than ideal.
Christmas morning for Mary and Joseph was in a stable, and as a new mother Mary perhaps wished it could have been better. But in that stable God chose to celebrated the birth of His son, that others who are having a less than a Merry Christmas, can celebrate it too.
If things are difficult for you this year and nothing seems to be going right. You don't have to wait for peace to come into your life, just kneel at the manger and invite Jesus into your life. Christmas then can take on a whole new meaning for you and can be the best Christmas ever .

Read this Miraculous story for yourself   in  Luke 2: 10-11

Monday, December 9, 2013

Think of it; The God of the universe came down from Heaven one night in Bethlehem and took human form!   " God was manifested in the flesh"  ( 1 Tim  3: 16 ) That manifestation was in the person of Jesus Christ.

If you have ever wanted to know what God is like, then take a look at Jesus ---- because He was God in human flesh.

Its been over two thousand years since this event took place, this birth was like no other in the history of mankind .

To his disciples Jesus said  " You believe in God believe also in me"  ( John  14: 1 )

Amid all the glitter and busyness of the season, don't lose sight of the miracle of that first Christmas in Bethlehem a most incredible truth it is and will be forever.

Gods peace plan

This past year, we have seen news reports of people rioting in city streets, of terrorist bombs going off in public squares, of deranged gunmen opening fire in random acts of violence.

At the same time, we hear almost weekly of a peace plan being offered by one group or another that never seems to bring any real peace.

Without a doubt we are living in a world of violence. God has a peace plan He announced it more than 2000 years ago on a starry night in Bethlehem.

It's a plan that works, and one that He still offers today to those who seek peace and good will in their lives, Glory to God in the highest,And on earth peace, good will toward men.
Luke  2: 14

May His peace and good will; abound in our hearts as we celebrate the birth of Christ during the  Christmas season.

When Sir William Russell went to the scaffold in 1683, he took his watch out of his pocket and handed it to the physician who  attended him in his death. "Would you kindly take my time piece?" he asked. " I have no use for it now, that I  am soon to be dealing with eternity.

The world and all the things in it fade into insignificance in the light of eternity. All the things that preoccupy us are no longer important and only one thing counts; our relationship with God.

Peter wrote in his last letter, "Since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in Holy conduct and godliness?..... Be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless."
                                   2 Pet.  3:11, 14.

How different today might be for us  if we knew it would be our last one on earth before meeting God face to face? I'm sure each of us would strive to live it the very best we possibly could if we knew that. Guess what one day it will be !

The old Testament gives a wonderful picture of God as our shepherd. " Give ear, O shepherd of Israel. Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock."
                                                  Psalms  80: 1

A shepherd protects and feeds his sheep, and pursues them when they stray. At evening he brings then into the fold, secure against every enemy.  Without the shepherd, the sheep would scatter and wounder into danger.

The New Testament tells of another shepherd---- The Lord Jesus Christ: " I am the good shepherd.  The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep."   He guides and protects us and even gave His life so we will be safely in His fold forever.

                                                 John  10: 11.

A Sure Guide

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.       Psalm  119: 105

As Christian's we only need one source for our direction's in life and that is the word of God, its our compass for finding the sure pathway.

In the midst of  many different ways to go, the written word of God, given to us by God, tells us the true way to go and how to get there.

If we follow that way, it will lead us home every time,no matter how far we may have strayed off course.

The Bible truly is a sure guide to an unsure world.   Is it your guide ?

There are three kinds of Faith, that come to mind when we put our Faith in Jesus Christ.

Struggling faith;  like a person floundering and fearful in deep water.

Clinging faith; like a person hanging to the side of a boat.

Resting faith;  which finds a person safe inside the boat-----strong and secure to reach out his hand to help someone else.

We notice each person had faith. Each knew the boat was his only hope, but of the three only one had a resting faith.  Only one had discovered he could actually be in the boat---where all he had to do was rest.

This is the kind of faith God wants us to have---a faith that trust Him totally.

Unfortunately sometimes we discover its reality only after we have endured struggling or clinging faith.

Sometimes we only realize we can get in the boat when the storms rages and we cry out to God with new faith.

Then our savior graciously says, "Come to Me---- and I will give you rest."

                                 Matt.  11:28

Are you in the boat or out of the boat?

Building and living a life that matters

Trying to put the pieces of your life together?

Paul tells us those who are wise  will use the blueprint he wrote about in 1 Cor. 3: 10-11.

Which states ;according to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Christ Jesus.

For your life to take shape, you will need to, Value others above yourself, serve others, give generously of your resources, to those in need.

Meeting these request, you will receive some of  the building materials God wants you to have to, so that you can build a life that is worthy of being His temple.

" Jesus Christ truly is the Christian's  starting point for building  a life that matters and the blueprint for peace,Joy and happiness to your life thereafter."

Are you building your life by His design or your own?

" I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you."
                Jeremiah 31:3

Many people have difficulty believing God is a God of love.  "How could He be," they ask, "When the world is filled with so much suffering and evil?"

Its not an easy issue---but if you want to know the reality of God's love, look at the cross.

It was His love, divine love, that caused Christ to endure the cross and endure the despising  shame.

He raised not a hand against His enemies and it was His love that kept Him from calling great legions of angels to come to His defense.

It was His everlasting love in a moment of agonizing pain, which caused Him to pause and give hope to a repentant sinner, who cried, "Lord remember me when you come into your Kingdom"

It also was His great love that showed, when He lifted His voice and prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do."

Does God love us? the answer is yes----and the proof is the cross.

What does revelation mean? It means that something that has been hidden is now made known.

Some people see God that way---hidden and unknown. Such a view assumes God doesn't want to be known---or even that God is incapable of being  known  because "God" is just a vague impersonal force like gravity.

But God has revealed Himself, He is not hidden He has spoken to us, and if we will listen, we can not only discover what He is like, but we can come to know Him in a personal way.

God has given us two text books. One is the "Text book" of nature. By looking at the world, we can learn something about its creator.

The other is the "Text book" of revelation, the Bible. It is more than an ancient record of events; it is God's Word, given to us by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to guide our lives. God has spoken---and He still speaks.

            Are you listening?

How to Have Contentment

I have learned in whatever state I am , to be content.    ----Philippians 4: 11----

Contentment is hard to find for a lot of folks, its not a natural character for some reason.  Just how do we go about being content?

We learn it by taking things in life one step at a time, until we have learned to accept the things that come our way. even the most uncomfortable ones.

The competitive spirit in us drives us to complain, compare, and covet, it is only when we let go of this competitive spirit, that we  learn to be content in what ever things come our way.

Contentment isn't  about being competitive, it isn't about possessing everything you desire, but it is giving thanks for everything you possess.

Certainly many men and women in America are living the American dream  they enjoy well-paying careers and wonderful homes.

Thanks in large part to political liberty, in our country but their "Pursuit of happiness" has yet to be satisfied.

The main reason for that is perhaps they are bound to anxiety and depression and worries and fears of losing what they have worked so hard to possess.

Liberating circumstances seem so external, and and it causes us a lot of grief, before we eventually learn that the real freedom we seek must be realized from within.

The true way to such freedom is found in Jesus Christ, in Isaiah 61:1 we find written many years ago, that Jesus came to heal the broken hearted and set the captive free.

It is in Christ alone, that we are liberated from the lies, which were programed into our minds, about worldly possessions from an early age,  and we see the real way to freedom from Christ point of view.

We discover our needs desires and total well-being, rest securely in the arms of a loving and kind heavenly Father.

Who wishes above all things, that we may prosper and be in good health.   3rd John 1:2. and enjoy the freedom He so gives  to each of us.

Attention Please

A whistle can get our attention pretty quickly .

Its sound is used to control unruly behavior, to signal the beginning or the end, of an event.

When blown by a police officer at an intersection,   a teacher on a play ground,  a  referee at a sports event, its signal can be used for us to stop, what we're doing and learn why it was blown.

Most of the time God doesn't have to use  a whistle to get our attention? but  he may use other tactics
In a lot of ways we are just like students in a classroom when it comes to listening to God.

In order for the teacher in the classroom to achieve any learning from the students they first have to get their attention.

Sometimes the Lord uses adversity to wake us up and to get our attention so that we will look to him and learn from him.

God allows adversity, anguish, trials, tribulations, and heartaches to be valuable lessons of experience in our lives.

These adversities can bring us to a higher level of insight and understanding

If we are wise, we will stop and listen  when we recognize these events hapenning.and  learn, why he is calling .

He desire's our attention, and wants us to  fellowship  with Him, unfortunately,we are often to preoccupied, and to busy.

What is your excuse ?

God is calling us unto Him self  and waiting patiently for our reply will you give Him your undivided attention today?

A Winding Path

Some times the path of life seems lengthy and difficult, leaving us with little strength and will power for the journey.

Maybe you're overwhelmed with sadness in your life today, the sorrow of a struggling child; the care of an aging parent; and many other troubles that come with life.

"Surely"  you maybe saying God would not have me to walk this hard way; surely there must be an easier path for me to travel.

But are any of us wise enough to know some other way that would make us better and wiser, perhaps the answer is a resounding "NO" due to our own understanding of life.

Our Heavenly Father knows best; He tells us in --Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding; In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

We can humbly take the path He has marked out for us today, and do so in absolute trust, He is wiser and more loving than we can ever know.

God will never lead you down a wrong path.

Thankfulness isn't our usual response when something goes wrong.

We may have many good things for which to be thankful----but let just one bad thing happen and its all we think about for weeks.

The Bible teaches us to give thanks for everything that happens in our life including the bad things.

Each of us should have the thankfulness that Matthew Henry demonstrated when he was mugged.

Matthew wrote in his diary, "Let me be thankful first because I was never robbed before; second, although they took my wallet, they did not take my life; third because although they took my all, it was not much; and fourth because it was I who was robbed, not I who robbed.

I wonder if each of us could be that thankful !

Does God Answer our Prayers?

From one end of the Bible to the other, there is the record of those whose prayers were answered----men and woman who turned the tide of history by prayer.

For example Elijah prayed and God sent fire from Heaven to consume the offering on the alter he had built in the presence of God's enemies.

Elisha prayed and the son of the Shunammite woman was raised from the dead.

Hannah prayed and God gave her a son.

Paul prayed and dozens of Churches were born.
These peoples prayers were the natural outflow of their Godly lives lived  for Gods glory, and from their deep inter faith that was pleasing to God.

God is still answering prayers  for His people;  today,   2 Chronicles 7:14 says "If my people will pray and seek my face I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

In all of God's creation, just one thing did not meet with His approval.

He looked upon Adam who was the only being of his kind, and said, "It is not good for the man to be alone" (Gen 2:18.)

God designed people for emotional, mental, and physical intimacy, so they could share their innermost selves with each other.

He did not create people for self-sufficiency or isolation.

In God's design, a close, committed Biblical friendship, between Him and mankind, brings fulfillment.

Christ desires for us,is still the same today.hasn't changed since He met Adams need back in the beginning.

God has ways of shaking the world when He is at work.  He literally caused the ground to quake when Jesus died on the Cross.

Likewise in our present day, He often lets the foundations of our world be shaken---- in political situations financial systems and in our own personal lives, such as when a family experiences the loss of a love one . or a marriage begins to unravel.

While adversity affects everyone, we can have peace in knowing that God always has a greater purpose when He allows upheaval in our world.

When we build our lives on the fragile cornerstones of humanity  such as wisdom, pride, unconditional love, things may look good for awhile  but the weak foundation we have built on  eventually causes collapse when the storms of life hit.

Of all the foundations in the world only one is secure, safe and dependable, that one is,Jesus Christ.

If you build your life on His foundation, no matter what storms are raging around you,  you will be able to stand firm , your foundation will remain strong and dependable and provide a refuge of peace  and joy for your soul.

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

For as long as there has been time, seems like there have been  ideas of how to bring peace to the earth.

Organizations have been created, much money and time have been spent, treaties have been signed, books have been written--- all in an effort to find a formula that would bring peace.

World war l was called "The war to end all wars" but as we know it wasn't,  whether men shoot and fight one another or not, there is warfare in the home; warfare between husband and wife, between parents and children, between brothers and sisters, between neighbors and friends, between management and employee.

What can be done? its sounds so simplistic to say we need to turn to God----and rightly so, that is the only lasting solution, only God can remove the poisons of greed, hatred, jealousy from our hearts and replace them with contentment, compassion and forgiveness.

What ever war rages in your heart today, lay it at the foot of the cross and ask Christ to give you peace over it.

He Himself is our Peace;    Ephesians 2:14

Whats Jesus Doing Now ?

The New Testament tells us what Jesus did while He was on earth, but what is He doing now that He has ascended to the Father in Heaven?

Though we cannot presently see Him, His word assures us that He is always acting on our behalf.

In John 10:10 it says He give us abundant life, He enables us to live with peace, and  joy,and He gives us strength to accomplish what ever He calls us to do.

Jesus is always making intercession for us He hears our prayers and presents our request to the Heavenly Father.

Jesus is personally interested in every aspect of our lives, He's now preparing a place for us and will one day come to take us home, to Heaven, so we can be with Him forever.

" Out of sight, out of mind" is definitely not a phrase that describes Christ's relationship with us.

He never forgets us and is continually working to complete His Plans for our lives and the entire World.

Whats Jesus doing now? He's doing the will of His Father and is soon coming to rule and reign on Earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

His constant care should motivate us to make sure that He's not out of our sight and mind.

Formmula For Personal Growth

Growing in Christ involves far more than just attending Church, tithing, and listening to a Sermon.

In fact, many believers do these yet remain stagnant in their walk with God.

There is one main elements that we first need to  help us grow and become more like Jesus.

It is vital to learn truth and instruction, so that we can gain knowledge and understanding of the word of God.

Simply listening to the truth does not mean that we've acquired it, many times people attend Bible studies and expand their knowledge base  but their lives remain unchanged.

Are we careless hears deceived into thinking that we're growing? Or are we listening intently and abiding in the truth?

If we're truly maturing, our lives will be increasingly Christlike and our desires  will align more closely with God's heart.

Are you listening and responding to His truth? Is your personal growth growing or has it become stagnant?

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

No matter how far away from God you may have drifted, you're always welcome back.

What ever your drifting story maybe, make this the day that you point yourself back to the Lord.

The first motion toward getting back on course is to acknowledge that you have slipped away, confess and repent of it, which is like turning your boat around and paddling toward God.

If you're wondering exactly how you might do that, try giving yourself to God  each day starting  when you wake up in the morning.

Then pray and meditate on His word  and  vigorously paddle your way back  to God before you wind up lost at sea.

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

Even though most Christians are very familiar with the gospel, many are reluctant to share their faith with others, because they don't feel  capable of explaining it to someone else.

What if we don't have the answers or worst yet what if we wind up looking like a fool? It's just to intimidating; do not be disheartened  God has given us the most important message in the world.

We must not let fear or ignorance keep us from sharing and giving a lost world  the only message that can change a persons eternal destiny.

We tend to be motivated by temporal and easy  activities that eventually fade away.  Souls are for ever and people need to know the Saviour and His Gospel.

Will you be willing to step aside form the fear of rejection and share what God has done for you in your life and proclaim his Gospel  when God opens a door for you to share with others?
Think of it this way  God using you to rescue a family member or friend from a burning building with no one around to help but you wouldn't you want to help that love one or friend escape death.

" God is looking for people who will say--yes. rejection fades away in moments like these and is replaced with gratitude beyond measure for being the one God uses in time of need.

Lightning storms captivate our lives, with the visual display of God's amazing strength and power, even more amazing is His Gospel something He has entrusted to us.

Truly this is good news for though sinfulness reigns in our hearts, God can over come that darkness and redeem our souls.

Think about the strength of the Gospel. Gods word isn't simply ink on a page; it is living, active, and sharper than a sword;   Hebrews 4-12.

It can break the chains of sin, heal brokenness, guide us into wisdom, and offer us choices that bring hope to our lives.

Whats your response to this amazing Gospel? This awesome power He has entrusted you with, are you sharing it with hurting and hopeless people you come in contact with each day?

What Does Jesus Look Like ?

Many have ask that question  and where can it be found in the Bible?  Show me they say ; when we look in the Old Testament.

We find  in  Isaiah 53 that it gives  us a description of His looks and character;  the writer of Isaiah  describes Him as a man .

" Wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities a man of sorrows."

The one who died for us on the cross the one who was despised and rejected of men; the one we hid our faces from and yet we esteemed Him not.

Do you struggle with this description of what Jesus our Saviour looked like ? Have you invited Him into your heart?

Personally I think the one in Isaiah 53  who's  descriptive look is described so well   deserves a place in  each of our hearts if we are honest with our selves.

The spirit of God uses the word of God to change the hearts of man. " That's Jesus."

After reading this I hope you have formed an opinion of what The Bible says Jesus really looks like. Now that you know where to find it in the Bible share it with others.

As immigrants our ancestors left everything behind. Coming to America with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

They risked their lives for something they valued more highly than everything they had left behind; Freedom.

They did not take their adopted country's freedom for granted ----and neither should we.

Their experience is a picture of what we must do when we come to Christ.  We must forsake our old way of life and become citizens  of a new kingdom----the kingdom of God.

The statue of Liberty rises above New York's Harbor signifying our freedom in America.

The statue of Liberty that was just outside Jerusalem signifies our freedom from sin and lights the way to eternal life with Christ our Lord in a kingdom with out end.

The price of freedom bore a high cost to our fore fathers and an even  greater cost to our Saviour
it cost Him His life.

If the son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.   John  8 : 36.  "May freedom reign in your heart and life today and forever."

Most of us have prayed at some time or another  in a request to God for help in a matter of concern we couldn't handle ourselves, or maybe we just wanted to express to Him  our love and appreciation for something He has done for us.

Jesus prayed one of the most moving prayers ever uttered  when He asked that the cup of crucifixion, that was about to be thrust  upon Him in the garden of Gethsemane might be taken away.

Then in the very next breath He said, "Nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will"  Matt. 26:39. What a prayer ! What Strength ! What Power.

Christ desires to be with us in what ever crisis we may find ourselves in. He has gone through more than any of us can ever imagine.

He has promised us He will never leave us or forsake us, He may not make the problems go away but he will give us the power to deal with them and to overcome them with His grace.

Money plays a large role in our existence, its virtually impossible to live with out. For example how would we purchase food, shelter, and the necessities of  life. ?

Money is more than a means to acquire things, the quest for it has dominated mankind's history for dacades.

Actually wars have been fought over it, countless lives have been ruined by it and people die every day for lack of it.

What does God think about money since He  has made everything and it all belongs to Him.   Psalms 24-1.?

Even when we work for it and think it belongs to us--- it is still God who has given us the opportunity  and capability to earn it.

To gain a proper prospective of money God doesn't  just provide money for our physical needs; He uses it many times to transform us spiritually and to trains us to rely upon Him in times of need.

Instead of indulging in our desires for wealth He teaches us to learn to seek His will and to be generous with the money He gives us and let it be a powerful instrument in the Lord's hand.

Its only a piece of paper, and the world attaches far more significance to it than God ever intended it to have, when you give Him authority over it He will give you a spiritual view of it that coincides with His..

Then be reminded what you do with it each day  reveals your Godly character.

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

It's one thing to worship and praise God at church, but quite another to go out into the real world, and let others see our spiritual lives by the way we live.

Our spiritual  worship should not be confined to times and places but should extend beyond the walls of the church.

We should ask God for ways to uphold justice and to encourage and comfort others, that have been left tattered by the storms of life.

God loves each of us, as if there were only one of us, we're all His children, Jesus can fill each of our hearts with a sense  of belonging like we've never known before.

When we reach out to others and share their concerns out side of the church as well as inside.

Doubt Verses Faith

Can a believer in Jesus have doubts about matters of faith?
Some people think that mature and growing Christians never question their beliefs.

But we all have experiences that build our faith, as well as some that cause us to doubt.

Doubting Thomas had such an experience, of Jesus resurrection, when he said,"Unless I see the nail prints in His hands I will not believe."

Christ didn't rebuke Thomas as we perhaps would have, instead He showed him the evidence he asked for.

A time of doubt doesn't have to become a life time pattern, that keeps us alienated from God,instead we can do as Thomas, ask God to show us a deeper understanding of His reality, then our faith will be renewed.

Guess we need to practice doubting our doubts less and Practice believing our beliefs more, when our faith grows weak and doubts arise as they did For Thomas.

I Love cheering for my favorite baseball team the Detroit Tigers when they are winning, but my interest starts waning when they are losing.

It's easy rooting for a team when they are popular and playing well.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem for the passover feast His popularity was at an all time high,  by the end of the week the same people's opinions had changed and they were demanding that He be crucified.

I like to think if I had been in that crowd I would have been a loyal fan and would have followed Jesus all the way to the cross but knowing my track record with my sports team, I might not have.

How quickly our opinions change Christ deserves full time followers are you one of them?

There is an old saying which declares " All roads lead to Rome" Perhaps it could be true.

But the best and surest way to reach your destination is to consult a good road map, or perhaps ask some one who knows the way.

In our spiritual lives God has provided a map that helps us reach our destination and also some one to ask,who knows the way, so all we have to do is follow the directions,  seems simple enough right.

In the world we live in today not all roads lead to God as some suggest, the road block of sin keep many from finding the true and sure way home.

If we ask Jesus for direction the one who knows the way we will hear Him say I am the way, not one of many ways.

That's not arrogance, or narrow-mindedness, or lack of compassion its the truth, because Christ only came from Heaven to pay the price for our sins.

When you come to the fork in the road and don't know which road to take, follow Christ and never be lost!

Some years ago there was a popular song that  talks about some one looking back over their life and proclaiming proudly how they did things their way.

About self-satisfaction, not answering to anyone about their lifestyle or their choices. which is the exact opposite of how God has called us to live.

Just how do we live life Gods way, instead of our own way ?   First we must consider whether we've erected  a "Hands off" sign over certain areas of our life, that don't allow Him to lead us.

We're to set aside our agendas and focus instead on our relationship with God and the things that please Him.

God takes full responsibility for the life that is committed to Him and will provide the things we need to follow His instructions, even when our feelings say, we have insufficient resources or skills.

What do your choices reveal?  are you willing to try it Gods way ? Or would you rather have it your way.  It's never too late to change your mind and say "I did it Gods way."

If God were to remove all evil from the world and some how left us humans on the planet, would we some how become robots  ? and loose our "humanness."

Lets look at this a little closer, if God eliminated evil by programing us to perform only good acts we would loose our distinguishing mark----our ability to make choices.

We would no longer be free moral agents, we would be reduced to the status of robots and robots  do not love, love is based upon one's right to choose love.

We cannot force others to love us, we can make them serve us, or obey us, but true love is founded upon one's freedom to choose to respond

Given the choice would you rather be responsible for your actions, or be a robot with out responsibility !

Today are you using your ability to make decisions wisely--- and using it to glorify God?

Our decision making is important, its our God given right and ability; Deuteronomy 30-19    "I have set before you life and death; therefore choose life."

God wants us to love Him because, we choose to, not because we have  too ,therefore he made us in His image and not that of a robot.

Now in my seventy's I reflect back on wise  spiritual leadership, people that had a positive  impact on my life.

In the Bible we observed some of the ways spiritual leaders can help us grow--- they encourage us--- they build solid spiritual structures into our lives---and they have a listening ear when we hurt.

King Solomon wisely observed some of their ways
In Ecclesiastes 12:11 He wrote it this way;
The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars are well-driven nails, given by one shepherd.

My father taught me high standards on honesty, discipline, and self respect.

My mother instilled me to love others, and have a humble heart.

One of my Pastors taught me the love of helping others.

What a privilege to have been led and mentored by the words of the wise

May our words cast light on the heart of God and His wisdom.

Mother & Father Rules Verses God's Rules

Some of us children may have balked at our parent's rules, when we were growing up.

Thinking they were  robbing us of fun and pleasure in the early years of our lives, later on we realized those rules and standards, allowed for an orderly household.

Looking  at our parents rules verses God's rules found in the Bible we see boundaries which protest us from our worst inclinations.

Kinda like driving a car, when we abide by the rules our journey is a lot smoother and we find Protection, and an opportunity for a true and lasting ride.

Thank you Mom and Dad and God for your help, may your rules keep us on the right course through out our lives.
